Scandinavian Folk Festival: Nancy Marie Brown
Scandinavian Folk Festival Lecture
Nancy Marie Brown -- The Hidden Folk: How Iceland's Elves Can Save the Earth
Introduction by Arthur Pearson, Roger Tory Peterson Institute
This is a remote presentation with Ms. Brown on her farm with her husband and Icelandic horses in Vermont. Ms. Brown’s latest book discusses the culture of elves and environmentalism in Iceland. Her look at the phenomenon of Icelanders' openness to alternative sensibilities is a compelling inquiry into the role of the environment in society.
Mr. Pearson will allude to connections in Peterson's early bird guides in his introduction of the author and her work.
This presentation is scheduled for Saturday, July 15th at 1:00 p.m.
Ms. Brown's books will be for sale at the Scandinavian Folk Festival by Good Neighbor Bookstore, our local bookstore in Lakewood.
